SMALL TRIP NEARBY THE PETTIROSSO, |
The Pettirosso farm is located somewhere about the village of Ostra surrounded by colourful hills especially in spring and autumn. It is not far from the Adriatic Sea and from Senigallia: historical town and well-known seaside resort.
The Pettirosso has a favoured position. Thanks to good and panoramic roads, it is possible to reach some of the most historical, artistic and cultural centres of the region that are situated only at few km from the house.

The natural park of Monte Conero, the Conero riviera with its typical and beautiful places like Portonovo, Numana and Sirolo;
The regional natural park of Gola della Rossa and Frasassi with the famous Frasassi caves;

Jesi (the town where emperor Frederic II of Svevia and the musician G. Battista Pergolesi were born);

THE INLANDS AND ITS PRODUCTS
Truffle, sausages and salami, formaggio di fossa (Dicth's cheese is a typical local product obtained by the fermentation in the seasoning ditch of the local cheese produced in the area between the Rubicone and Marecchia valleys. The ditch is a subterranean environment dug in tufa with a flask shape. It is 4/7 metres deep with a diameter of 2 metres. Probably, it dates back to the Middle Ages), Caciotta del Montefeltro (small flat, soft, either fresh or matured cheese), pizza al formaggio marchigiana (typical pizza cake filled by cheese pieces), lonzino di fichi (dried figs salami).
